Jaguar USA Announces Specs for 2016 XE, 180HP Diesel Confirmed

Jaguar USA announces specs for 2016 XE  – 2 new engines will  be available to start with options for manual and automatic transmission and rear or AWD. The most powerful will be a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 making 340 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque.

The supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine is expected to go from is capable of 0-60mph in just 4.9 seconds.

The 2016 Jaguar XE 20d sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 7.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 140 mph.

All Surface Progress Control (ASPC), developed through decades of Jaguar Land Rover experience in off-road traction systems, can electronically gain traction in seconds and is ideal for use on low-grip surfaces, such as snow-covered roads.

The XE is also the stiffest, most aerodynamic Jaguar saloon car ever built and the first Jaguar to be equipped with electric power steering.

Jaguar’s new InControl infotainment system takes center stage: an 8-inch touchscreen brings fast, intuitive access to all features and functions – and iOS and Android smartphone apps. An optional head-up display (HUD) to generates sharp, high-contrast color graphics (such as vehicle speed and navigation) from a module smaller and lighter than existing systems, retaining clarity even in direct sunlight.

Launch in the US is not expected to be until Spring 2016 and we expect prices and full specs to be announced closer to then.
