In Our Humble Opinion…….

If you don’t want to appear as if you are having a midlife crisis by purchasing a 2 door speed machine like the Porsche 911, then redirect your money to a super fast, but still stylish 4 door sedan. We’ve chosen 6 of our favorites below and all are capable of out accelerating almost anything on the road. Money was no object when we chose the best 4 door sports sedans.

2016 Cadillac CTS-V

 

The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V utilizes a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 with 640 hp and 630 lb-ft of torque paired exclusively to an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s essentially a Corvette Z06 with room for five passengers.
0-60 takes a tire scorching 3.7 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 12 dead. 

2016 Audi RS7 Performance

 

The new Audi RS7 model has a reworked version of the free-revving V8 biturbo power unit with a displacement of 3,993 cc. Power output has been increased by 45 hp) 605 hp, same as in the 2016 Audi S8 we just tested. A constant 516.3 lb-ft) of torque is available between 1,750 and 6,000 rpm and in addition an overboost function allows the driver to temporarily draw on up to 553.2 lb-ft) between 2,500 and 5,500 rpm.
Audi claims it will accelerate from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds but our S8 tester did the deed in 3.42 secs, so this car being almost 200 lbs lighter, makes us think this will be a couple of tenths faster.

2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia

 

Utilizing a Ferrari-derived 505-horsepower V-6 bi-turbo the Giulia Quadrifoglio is the most powerful Alfa Romeo production car ever. 443 lb.-ft. of peak torque is available between 2,500-5,000 rpm. 0-60 mph is reached in 3.8 seconds, 191 mph top speed and a 7:39 Nürburgring lap time. Best of all a short-shifting six-speed manual transmission is standard. Due on sale late 2016.

2016 Aston Martin Rapide S

 

The Rapide S is certainly one of the world’s most beautiful four-door sports cars. It’s also the most powerful four-door Aston Martin has ever produced. The new 6.0 liter V12 engine develops 552 hp and 465 lb ft and will reach sixty mph in a scant 4.2 seconds and then on to a top speed of 203 mph.

2016 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat

 

Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat has a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® Hellcat engine which produces a staggering 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque and a top speed of 204 miles per hour, making it the quickest, fastest and most powerful sedan in the world. If you can get the wheels to bite in the dry sixty comes up in 3.4 seconds, 100 in 7.5 and the quarter mile in 11.4 seconds.

2016 BMW M6 gran coupe

 

BMW has upped the power on it’s twin-turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 32-valve V-8 by 40 hp from 560 hp, bringing it into the elite 600 hp club. With the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic the old car ripped to sixty in 3.7 seconds to expect this new one to knock off a few tenths. Peak torque also rises, from 501 lb-ft to 516 lb-ft, still short of the Audi RS7 Performance.
