Audi has unveiled the 2025 SQ8, a luxury SUV that embodies wealth, anger, and a pinch of V8-fueled rage. The SQ8 is an unmistakably Audi vehicle with aggressive lines, massive air intakes, and a signature grille.
Key Updates and Specs
The 2025 update brings slightly tweaked bumpers, new wheel designs, and blacked-out badges. The SQ8 is powered by a 4.0L Twin-turbo direct-injected DOHC 32-valve 90-degree V-8, producing 500 hp and 568 lb-ft of torque.
Price and Packages
The base price for the SQ8 is $97,600, but our test vehicle had several packages, including the Prestige package, S-Sport package, and Bang and Olufsen sound system, bringing the total price to $127,490.
Performance and Driving
The SQ8 accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds, thanks to its 8-speed automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive. The vehicle corners with impressive grip and turns in with unexpected sharpness, making it a joy to drive.
Interior and Cargo Space
The interior is typical Audi, with clean lines, luxurious materials, and dual touchscreens. The cargo area is decent-sized, with 30.5 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 60.8 cubic feet with the seats flattened.
Verdict
Despite its aging design, the 2025 Audi SQ8 is still a compelling vehicle, offering incredible chassis, quick acceleration, and a beautiful interior. While it may have some drawbacks, such as small cupholders and an annoying stop/start system, it makes no excuses for its excesses and is sure to put a smile on the face of any driver.
